How we review casinos
A review here answers one question: what is this site like to use, on the evidence we can show you. Each review lists what we checked, when, and what we did not check.
No reviews are published yet. We would rather publish none than publish one without evidence; the first will appear once it meets the standard below.
The evidence a review must have
- Dated screenshots of the homepage, games lobby, promotions page and mobile site, taken by us.
- The welcome terms quoted as the site showed them, with the date we saw them.
- A plain statement of what was tested. If we opened an account, deposited and withdrew, the review says so with dates. If we did not, it says that instead and claims nothing about payout speed.
- The licence, linked to the Gambling Commission register.
The five criteria
| Criterion | Out of | What we look at |
|---|---|---|
| Licence and safer-gambling tools | 20 | The licence account, deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and how easy they are to find. |
| Welcome terms | 20 | Wagering, caps on winnings, excluded payment methods and whether the key terms sit next to the offer. |
| Games and software | 20 | The range of game types, named suppliers, exclusives and how the lobby is organised. |
| Payments and withdrawals | 20 | Methods listed, stated limits and stated withdrawal times; measured times only where we withdrew. |
| Support | 20 | Channels, opening hours and, where we contacted them, how long an answer took. |
A review shows a score out of 100 only when every one of the five lines has evidence behind it in the text. If one is missing, the review is published without a score.
Review scores and match scores are different things
A match score says how alike two sites are. A review score says how one site did against the five criteria above. A site can be a 95% match for another and still score lower in review.
Independence
Operators cannot pay for a review, a score or a place in a ranking. Where a page carries a paid link, the link is marked and the affiliate disclosure explains it.
